This bird inhabits the rainforest of Trinidad, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. They remain with one partner for life and lay up to two eggs per year. Rainforest destruction is a major threat to this parrot and on the black market, the prices go as high as US$5000. These beautiful birds need to be protected.
